Covers and wraps (the two words are basically interchangeable) are waterproof shells that provide a barrier between your baby’s cloth diaper and the rest of the world. The type of cover that works well with your cloth diapering system will depend on the type of cloth diapers you’ve selected (all our covers work well with any of our diapers), the shape of your baby (tall, chubby legs, etc.) and what looks and feels nice to you.
Fitted, contour and prefold diapers require a cover to prevent wetness from escaping the diaper. All-in-one and pocket diapers have a waterproof exterior attached and do not need a separate cover.BBB Hint: A leaky diaper is typically NOT a failure of your cover, but rather due to not having enough absorbency inside your diaper. Try adding an insert or doubler to your cloth diapering system. If you find that liquid is being repelled rather than absorbed by your diaper, try stripping your diaper with several warm or hot water washes without detergent. If you’re having trouble controlling leaks over night, try a wool cover- wool is natural, breathable and best of all, is the only type of cover that is absorbent in addition to waterproof.
