Inserts and doublers (the two words are basically interchangeable) are used to add additional layers of absorbency to your diapers as needed- for example, during naps or nighttime. If you are experiencing leaks consistently, even when changing frequently, and detergent residue buildup is not the issue, chances are that you have a heavy wetter who needs more layers in his or her diaper.
